The Republican state institution «Ile-Balkhash» State Natural Reserve is headed by a director appointed by the Committee of Forestry and Wildlife of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan (the state body of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which manages a specially protected natural area)

The structure of the institution includes departments that ensure the main activities and fulfillment of the main tasks. The direct management of the institution’s activities is carried out by the director, who is subordinate to the deputy directors and the chief accountant, who manage the employees of the departments.

Leadership

The Director is the chief state inspector, who manages production, economic, financial and economic activities in accordance with current legislation. Organizes the work and effective interaction of all structural divisions, directs their activities to the development and improvement of production, taking into account social priorities, and improving work efficiency. Organizes production and economic activities based on the widespread use of the latest equipment and technologies, progressive forms of management and labor organization, scientifically based standards, material, financial and labor costs. Monitors issues of long-term development and compliance with the rule of law in the activities of the reserve. Takes measures to provide the reserve with qualified personnel, rational use and development of their professional knowledge and experience. Oversees the work of the HR department. He is the chairman of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Ile-Balkhash State Natural Reserve.

Main tasks

Conservation of the reserve’s ecosystems

• preservation of the integrity of ecosystems and their natural complexes;
• implementation of protection of the territory (including the waters of reservoirs) of the reserve and the protected zone in order to ensure the established regime;
• conservation of biological diversity.

Scientific research and monitoring

• implementation of environmental monitoring within the framework of the unified state environmental monitoring system;
• conducting scientific research, development and implementation of scientific methods for the conservation of natural complexes;
• assistance in the training of scientific personnel and specialists in the field of the environment;

Environmental education

• organization of environmental education, educational and educational excursions.
